One of several puzzling concepts that the left has brought onto the scene in recent years is the idea of cultural appropriation.
During Halloween season especially, cultural appropriation is all the rage as woke leftists warn white trick-or-treaters not to wear any costume that comes from a culture other than their own.
Does cultural appropriation, however, deserve all of the passionate attention that it receives? If you ask the cultures that the left claims are being appropriated, the answer is usually no.
It turns out that Chinese people, Japanese people, Hispanic people, and other individuals who the left claims are being appropriated tend to not care at all if someone from another culture wears a costume that pays tribute to them. In fact, they often see it as a compliment rather than an insult. The only people getting themselves in a twist about cultural appropriation are those on the far left – who tend to be white themselves.
With this being the case, it’s safe to say that there is no such thing as cultural appropriation — at least in the way that the far left defines it. To learn more about the myth that is cultural appropriation, be sure to check out the video below.
