There was a time when feminists actually fought for the rights of women in the United States, and, by and large, they were highly successful. That time, however, has long passed. Today, third-wave feminists are doing far more harm to women in America than they are good.
The reason why feminism has become poison for women has to do with the false narrative that modern feminism presents. According to today’s feminists, being a stay-at-home mom or a homemaker is a degrading, second-class position, and women who choose this life are letting down their gender.
The problem is, that there are still young girls all over the nation whose ultimate dream is to become a wife, a mother, and a homemaker – just like there are girls who dream about becoming a CEO or an astronaut. To tell these girls that their goals in life aren’t worthwhile and that their ambitions are a disappointment to their gender is doing them and our society at-large a massive disservice.
The reality is that homemakers still play an enormously important role in our country, and a large percentage of women would still rather stay at home than pursue a career. Until feminism learns to embrace all women – both homemakers and career-oriented women alike – it will remain a poisonous ideology.
Here’s Andrew Klavan with more on just how toxic feminism has become as a political ideology.
