Libertarian YouTuber Censored Over Unverified Allegation

If there’s one thing that the right and the left can agree on, it’s the profound impact that social media — particularly YouTube — has had on high-profile political events in recent years.

Between the United Kingdom’s Brexit referendum and the election of President Donald Trump in the United States, commentators from all parts of the political spectrum have been able to spread information and make their arguments. Social media has been a factor in politics in the past, but never like this.

Knowing all of this, it’s not particularly surprising that left-leaning tech giants have it out for content creators on their own platforms. YouTubers like Steven Crowder, a conservative comedian who commits the dire sin of making fun of cringey leftists, often find themselves demonetized, censored, or even removed form certain platforms just for having the wrong ideas.

The latest example is Stefan Molyneux, a Canadian podcaster who has identified as an “anarcho-capitalist” — an off-shoot of libertarianism that calls for the complete elimination of state power from everyday life. Molyneux is known for exploring controversial ideas on his Freedomain podcast, including the troubling disparities concerning race and IQ.

Apparently, this is enough to get labelled a white supremacist Nazi. You know, because the Nazis loved anarchism and free markets…

What happened next should be a wake up call for everyone who believes in freedom. Here’s Carl Benjamin with more.
