Ilhan Omar Doesn’t Think Terrorism is a Big Deal

For decades in this country, we’ve had a political system where the left insults the right, the right insults the left, and everyone else takes a side. You can say about it what you will. You can say it’s limiting. You can say it’s overly simplistic. You can say it’s designed to divide the populous. We can’t argue. It is and does those things.

But at least for the long history of our republic, our system of politics has allowed for us to criticize our political opponents. We were allowed to say that they were wrong. We were allowed to say that they are acting in bad faith. And we were allowed to say that they were evil or dumb or whatever — as long as we were guided by conviction and not by political allegiance.

The important thing is not whether or not you are wrong — it’s about whether or not you are lying.

So Congresswoman Illan Omar has been criticized by her political opponents. As a result, she and the Democrats are saying that her critics are inciting violence against her.

This is an obvious argument in bad faith. It is political tribalism by proxy. They do not actually believe the things they say. They only want to shut down open debate.

Laura Ingraham and Ben Shapiro discuss this in further detail below.
