It’s difficult to imagine that arguably the most prestigious university in the world would actively discriminate against a racial minority in 2019. And yet now that Harvard University has been forced to make their admission policy public due to various lawsuits filed against them, we see that this is exactly what is happening.
In spite of the fact that Asian-American applicants to Harvard have, on average, higher test scores and better extracurricular performance, these applicants are penalized due to their race and must exhibit exceptionally high scores in order to be accepted over an African-American, a Latin-American, or even a white student.
This blatant discrimination is all a part of Harvard’s leftist vision of achieving equality of outcome rather than equality of opportunity. It’s not enough for Harvard to give everyone a fair and equal shot at admission – which is equality of opportunity. Instead, the leftist administrators at Harvard are attempting to achieve equality of outcome by penalizing races that tend to perform better while essentially subsidizing the scores of races that tend to perform worse.
