Another Reason Why Leftists Always Seem to be Miserable

The concept of self-love is one that is very near and dear to the hearts of modern leftists. On the surface, self-love may seem like a concept that is only beneficial. Despite their good intentions, though, the idea of self-love that most leftists have grasped onto is one that is making them miserable in the end.

The problem with the left’s view of self-love is the fact that it is derived from a place of selfishness. This modern version of loving yourself places a person’s own happiness above all else. When you place your own happiness above all else, though, happiness is rarely what you end up receiving.

True happiness is derived from loving both yourself and others. It’s derived from seeing other perspectives and understanding that things aren’t always going to work out exactly the way you want them to. When you are taught to love yourself to the point of selfish entitlement, though, true happiness is almost impossible to achieve. Instead, selfishness and entitlement only lead to misery, and many of those on the left who have bought into the 21st-century idea of self-love are seeing first-hand how ineffective it really is.
