Why the Word “Racist” Has Almost No Meaning Anymore

Language is a powerful construct, able to shape cultures and change the direction of entire civilizations. Unfortunately, the far left is tightening its grip on language in the United States, twisting important words and phrases and robbing them of their meaning. There’s no example of this that is more obvious than what the left has done to the word “racist”.

The word “racist” has become a go-to weapon in the far-left’s arsenal – a term they toss out to shut down any argument that they are losing. In the process, though, the word has been turned into a meaningless term. No longer is it easy to understand what a person is saying when they call something racist. They may be pointing out a very real example of racism, or they may be using the word to attack anything or anyone that they disagree with.

By treating a powerful word with such folly and disrespect, the left has stripped this word of all meaning – and our culture is worse off for it. Today, we are forced to analyze every situation where the word racist is used to determine where it is a true example of racism or a disturbing example of leftist virtue signaling. When language is distorted in this manner, no one benefits.
