When multiple women came forward accusing former Vice President Joe Biden of unwanted and inappropriate touching, the Democratic Party was given the opportunity to demonstrate moral consistency. Instead, though, they have chosen the path of hypocrisy.
As the news cycle covering Biden’s history of bizarre and creepy behavior with young girls and older women alike began to ramp up, a few in the Democratic Party called on Biden to address these accusations. Many others, however, simply gave the former vice president a free pass – including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who went on record saying that Biden’s history should not disqualify him from running for president.
This is a dramatically different approach than Pelosi and her Democratic colleagues took when it was the sexual history of a Republican politician in question. Despite a complete lack of evidence, Democrats were quick to crucify both President Donald Trump and Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh when accusations of sexual misconduct were brought against them, crying that all women should be believed no matter what and doing everything in their power to make sure that the supposed crimes did not go unpunished. Now that the frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic nomination is the one on trial, though, Democrats are singing an entirely different tune.
