The Obamacare Mandate is Still Crushing Families

Back in 2009, then-President Barack Obama and his Democratic allies championed the Affordable Care Act as a way to give millions of middle-class working families the hand up they needed when choosing health insurance.

As it turns out, Obamacare is having precisely the opposite effect. To make matters worse, those hurting the most are the same people the president allegedly intended to help.

According to a new report by Forbes, health care costs are still skyrocketing as a result of the law’s mandate — that is, Obamacare’s provision which requires all Americans to own health insurance.

In the report, the authors note that 80 percent of the individuals punished by the individual mandate make less than $50,000 per year — hardly the wealthy fat cats Obama said were to burden the bulk of the law.
