By and large, President Trump has been making good on his promise to “drain the swamp” in Washington DC. However, the swamp isn’t going to go down without a fight. Never before in history have so many powers within American government and culture conspired together with the single purpose of destroying a sitting President. How are they doing it, though?
Unable to create policies and plans that the American people will buy into, the Democratic Party has chosen to try President Trump in the court of public opinion, using their influence within the media to attack him relentlessly. According to a recent survey, a staggering 92% of the mainstream media coverage of President Trump over this summer has been negative. Democrats both in Washington and in the media hope that this constant negative coverage will be enough to sway voter opinions of the President and the Republican Party altogether. Meanwhile, Democrats in power have made obstruction and resistance their only policies, hoping to stonewall the President as much as possible until 2020 when they plan for their smear campaign efforts to come to fruition.
All the while, President Trump continues to rack up incredible victories for the country that go entirely ignored in the media, fighting Democrats every step of the way in order to make those victories a reality.
