Rand Paul Crushes The Left’s “Obstruction” Argument

Now that President Trump has been exonerated from colluding with the Russian government, Democrats determined to impeach the President have already begun shifting their focus to the next crime on the list – obstruction of justice.

While Mueller’s report found no evidence of obstruction, Mueller stopped short of exonerating Trump on this issue and left it up to the DOJ to decide whether they wanted to pursue investigations on these charges. This is something that both the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General have already stated they have no intention to do.

Just as importantly, though, is the fact that it is not possible to obstruct justice when there was no crime to cover up in the first place. Exonerating President Trump on the issue of Russian collusion – the real reason why he was being investigated in the first place – exonerates him of any other crimes such as obstruction of justice that may have come up during the course of the investigation. In other words, the only way Democrats are going to remove Trump from office at this point is to defeat him in 2020.

To hear Sen. Rand Paul discuss how it is no longer possible to charge Trump with obstruction of justice, be sure to check out the video below.
