How Ilhan Omar Now Represents Mainstream Democrats

Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar recently caused quite the uproar over her obvious antisemitic remarks where she insinuated that the only reason the United States supports Israel is the money they receive from Jewish lobbyist groups. However, the backlash from Omar’s own party was minimal at best. Omar issued no real apology for her comments, and she comes across as someone who understands that no punishment is coming. She’s right.

The reason why Rep. Omar will face no consequences from her own party is that Democrats don’t really believe she’s wrong. The Democratic Party has a long history of antisemitism in its own ranks — and now it’s becoming mainstream.

Omar’s mistake was voicing these views out loud rather than keeping them hidden and shrouded in ambiguity. For that, she has received a simple slap on the wrist in the form of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi condemning her statement. However, the fact still remains that Omar is only guilty of voicing views that the rest of the party is smart enough to keep hidden from the American people.

The Daily Wire’s Andrew Klavan has more on why Omar was never going to give a real apology in the video below.
