Trump Campaign Addresses the Possibility of a Hillary 2020 Run
In a recent interview, Hillary Clinton fired up the speculation that she might be considering running for President again by saying “I’d like to be President” in response to a question about whether she would run in 2020. Clinton leaving the door open for a 2020 run certainly has left many Democrats anxious and concerned – and many Republicans chomping at the bit.
As we all know, Clinton was defeated quite badly in 2016. In order for her to have a remote chance at winning round two in 2020, she would need her popularity to skyrocket as well as Trump’s popularity to tank. That isn’t what’s happened so far, though. Right now, Trump’s approval rating is up a little from what it was in 2016, while Clinton’s approval rating has plummeted thanks to her constant self-pitying remarks and attacks on American voters.
Of course, Clinton would still very likely win the Democratic primary if she ran. Her money and influence within the DNC are enough to overwhelm any other Democratic candidate. Come the general election, though, a weakened, wildly unpopular Hillary Clinton would be going up against a strengthened, incumbent President Trump. It’s a recipe for a landslide Trump victory that both Democrats and Republicans can see coming.
However, all of that still may not be enough to keep Hillary Clinton from giving it one more go. To hear Trump’s 2020 campaign manager talk about the possibility of Clinton running again, be sure to check out the video below.
