Rand Paul Sounds Off on Trump’s Political Genius
Most Trump supporters describe the president’s gift for strategy by saying that he is playing 4-D Chess. It’s more or less a way to say that he can do no wrong, suggesting that Donald Trump works in mysterious ways. But the fact remains that he has managed to get things done that no president before him has been able to do. And he’s done it all while actively engaged in an all out PR war with the media establishment.
Describing his political acumen by calling it 4-D Chess is slightly obtuse. It might be more accurate to think of it as like high-level Judo. Trump uses his opponent’s energy against them, letting them walk into traps of their own making. He plays the strong man, making the insane and ill tempered Kim Jong un unable to predict his next moves while throwing liberal journalists for a loop by not taking them seriously.
Maybe the most impressive thing about Trump is the fact that he is totally unphased by politically correct shaming tactics. When the left calls him a bigot or a misogynist, it just rolls off him like water off a duck’s back. Historically, few — if any — politicians have been so nimble in this way. The norm is to stumble, apologize, and then submit to the subsequent take down and dismemberment.
Few people realize there is an enormous war that being fought against human trafficking networks, while Trump’s lips remain strategically sealed.
