Poll Shows Democrats Do NOT Think Patriotism is “Important”
Democrats lag far behind Republicans in believing that patriotism is an important part of life, according to a newly released poll from the Wall Street Journal and NBC News.
While the poll showed that about 80 percent of Republicans think patriotism was important, this dropped by almost a half for Democrats — with just over 40 percent saying the same. The poll further revealed that this level of support for patriotism tends to change based on who the president is. A similar poll conducted during the Obama administration showed nearly double the amount of Democrats saying patriotism is important. Republicans remained largely unchanged.
This polling data is very revealing. Republicans, or conservatives in general, seem to be able to separate their feelings about the country with their feelings about the government, which is why they remained patriotic despite living under a regime they didn’t like. This could speak to the conservative philosophy itself, which suggests that country and government are in fact separate entities.
For Democrats, it seems that who is in charge changes everything. When a Democrat is in control of the country, the country itself is good. When a Republican takes control, that same country immediately becomes terrible.
There are a lot more gems in that same poll that show exactly why the Democratic Party is in the position it’s in. Here’s Ben Shapiro with more details.
