Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren enjoys painting herself as something of an outsider within the Democratic Party, someone who doesn’t always tow the party line and someone who isn’t embroiled in all of the corruption. However, when it comes down to it, Warren is no more of an outsider than she is a Native American.
Her corruption-free, outsider image was put to the test in a recent debate with her Republican opponent in which Warren was asked about whether or not she participated in using the Kavanaugh hearing as a fundraising opportunity. Warren’s response was to repeatedly dodge the question and say that she did not know.
Using a confirmation hearing of a Supreme Court nominee as a fundraising opportunity is a serious ethics concern and a sign that Warren, like the rest of the Democratic Party, is far more interested in playing politics and keeping power than they are doing what is right and what is required of them.
Of course, Sen. Warren certainly isn’t the type of person to let doing what’s right or being honest get in the way of her aspirations. This is a point that she has made clear ever since she used her “Native American heritage” to gain an important leg up in her career.
