Leading up to the midterm elections, Hollywood elitists felt it necessary to come to the rescue of the nation once again and voice their “expert” opinions on why we should all vote Democrat. In an attempt to help flip a reliably red state blue, both Oprah Winfrey and Will Ferrell made a trip to Georgia. The arguments they made while visiting the state can be boiled down to this: “We’re famous, and therefore we’re right”.
Thankfully, Vice President Mike Pence had a perfect response to these laughable celebrity efforts, saying in a speech “This ain’t Hollywood, it’s Georgia”.
Pence hit the nail on the head. The idea that Hollywood celebrities even know what’s best for people in their own state, much less the state of Georgia, is simply absurd. People such as Will Ferrell, Oprah Winfrey, and countless others have a platform, but little else. Thanks to their platform, though, we all have to now hear what they have to think about issues that are way above their pay grade.
