Democrats Repeating 2016 Mistakes

In 2015 and 2016, Democrats made a number of crucial mistakes that would come back to haunt them in the 2016 election. Among the biggest of those mistakes was the DNC playing favorites and essentially rigging the election in Hillary Clinton’s favor. It was an error in judgment that, once known, drove many supporters of Bernie Sanders to not vote for Clinton out of anger that their candidate was cheated.

One would think that Democrats would learn from these mistakes and their consequences. Now, though, it looks as if they are poised to repeat the same mistakes all over again. Heading into the 2018 midterms, Democrats are once again picking favorites both by heaping extra funding behind candidates that they feel have the best chance to win, and by encouraging other Democratic candidates to drop out of the race.

A series of released recordings show how this already-failed strategy is being used yet again, and yet again it has the potential to anger Democratic voters who support the candidates that the party does not.

It would seem as if the Democratic party is no longer much of a believer in the democratic process, and would prefer instead to hand-pick the candidates they want to see elected. Whether this strategy will backfire on them again as badly as it did in 2016 is something only time will tell.
