While students like to refer to their universities as a “safe space,” this courtesy is not extended to many of their own peers.
In this Fox & Friends YouTube video, the anchor talks to Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA. Kirk recently Tweeted that conservative students were being targeted by professors because of their political stance. Kirk pointed out that it is unfair of college professors to penalize students because of their beliefs.
In a Tweet back, liberal writer and former Deadspin contributor Jesse Farrar replied to Kirk’s Tweet, saying that liberal students should have their heads “held underwater until they stop breathing,” basically advocating for the murder of conservative students.
Kirk goes on to tell Fox & Friends that he sent out another Tweet saying “Jesse must be joking.” Farrar responded and said that he wasn’t. The Deputy Editor of Deadspin was asked for his thoughts on Farrar’s Tweets. He said that although he couldn’t agree with Farrar’s methods, he thinks that it would make the world a better place if conservative students were killed.
Kirk says that these Tweets are “beyond pale,” and wonders how any journalist can advocate for the mass genocide of conservative students just because they have differing viewpoints.
