Let’s face it — if you’re old enough to actually remember most of the Cold War, and you still call yourself a socialist, chances are that your sense of shame is pretty limited.
Nevertheless, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders persists, and is shamelessly proud of the top-down economic tyranny he wants to impose on all of us. This is the guy who flat-out endorsed the breadlines in communist dystopias like the Soviet Union, and will to this day defend the Castro regime in Cuba.
Of course, Sanders’ backwards political views aren’t the only embarrassing thing about him. He’s also just a weird dude in every other aspect. Considering the charisma it typically takes to get elected to any office, it’s a wonder how he made it out of Vermont at all.
So, where is Bernie getting his support from? It isn’t his messaging — he isn’t encouraging his supporters to be better Americans. He’s promising his supporters resources if they elect to give him the power to steal them from other people. His charm is entirely based on his hostility to other people.
Yes — Sanders isn’t the harmless old man he appears to be today. He’s very threatening. Despite all this, there is a plethora of material to laugh at over his long career in trying to overthrow capitalism.
