Many of us have placed a great deal of hope in the presidency of Donald Trump, and rightly so. He’s not the same kind of top-down, smug, authoritarian that we’re used to. He does not make promises he does not intend to keep.
But Donald Trump is not what makes America great. It is the American people who make America great. We are possibly the least racist society on Earth. We are the most generous society on earth by far. We celebrate freedom, honesty, and success. We admire the strong and care for the weak. And not only that, but we’re a hell of a lot smarter than anyone gives us credit for.
In fact, if there is one smear job bigger and meaner than the one directed at Trump and his supporters, it’s the smear job aimed against the intelligence and the character of the American people. For decades, we’ve been told we’re dumb, that we’re too insular, and that we’re lazy.
But we have a world-beating higher education system. People come to America to get their education. American is an industry super giant — even during the Obama recession.
Now, Americans are showing the latest crop of America doubters that their message is not resonating. And the one feeling the brunt of the back lash is crazy eyes Ocasio-Cortez herself.
She’s promised to deliver full-blown socialism, and Americans are saying, “No thank you.”
