Washington Post Op-Ed Links ‘The Lion King’ to Fascism
In 2019, nothing is safe from the scourge of PC culture. Now, in spite of Disney’s best efforts to appease the radical left, even The Lion King has been labeled as fascist propaganda by one Washington Post op-ed.
According to the article, The Lion King indirectly promotes fascism by creating a world that is ruled by the powerful. Rather than the benevolent leaders they are portrayed to be, the op-ed claims that the lion pride in charge of the Pride Lands are fascist dictators who rule over the other creatures only because they are the strongest.
Never mind the fact that in the animal kingdom it is indeed the strong that rule, or the fact that The Lion King was never meant to have any political message in the first place – when leftists start searching for something to be offended over, it usually doesn’t take them very long to find it.
Perhaps if Disney ever makes a live-action sequel to The Lion King, they can write a story where the lions redistribute their wealth to the poor zebras and all of the Pride Lands live happily ever after in a socialist utopia. Of course, even then the writers at the Washington Post would probably still find something to complain about.
Here’s Fox News with more on the story.
