One of the most concerning problems that the Republican Party currently faces is their increasing inability to win the minority vote. As the United States continues to grow more and more diverse, a lack of minority support may end up becoming the Achille’s heal of the party. Why, though, is this the case?
It’s certainly not like Democrats have done anything concrete to help minorities in recent history. They pander to them and play identity politics to win their vote, but they never deliver any results. If anything, Democrats have a history of insulting US minorities by acting as if they are unable to think for themselves and assuming that any non-white American must automatically be a Democrat.
Nevertheless, the majority of minorities continue to vote Democrat. The one silver lining is that, eventually, actions will speak louder than words. Right now, Republicans aren’t winning minority votes because they refuse to pander and make false promises to any group, minority or not. The many instances where Democrats have failed to help minorities, though, are opportunities for the Republican Party.
