These are the Worst Lies About the AR-15

After the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida, the AR-15 rifle has become one of the most feared and hated weapons of all time. However, this Louder With Crowder video, viewable below, proves many of these myths to be false.

Here are just a few:

1.) AR-15s Are The Most Dangerous Guns on the Market: Not true, as Crowder says there are plenty of other semi-automatic rifles that are more effective at killing than the AR-15s. These other rifles can carry just as much ammo and their ammunition is just as powerful or more so than an AR-15s. Semi-automatic shotguns, commonly used for deer hunting, are also just as dangerous.

2.) “AR” in AR-15 Stands For “Assault Rifle”: This is false. It stands for ArmaLite Rifle. It is named after the company that developed the weapon in the 1950s.

3.) The AR-15 is an Automatic Rifle: Again, wrong. The AR-15 is a semi-automatic, like virtually every other gun available to civilians. This “semi” means you pull the trigger once, and one bullet comes out.

4.) AR-15s Are Responsible For Most Violence: Nope. The FBI states that you are far more likely to be knifed to death than to be shot by any kind of gun.

Watch the rest of this entertaining video to learn the truth behind all the myths Crowder debunked about the AR-15.
