Republicans Call for Special Counsel to Investigate Hillary Clinton

Several Republican lawmakers say they want more information on Hillary Clinton’s infamous Uranium One deal during her time as Barack Obama’s Secretary of State, and that a special counsel is the only way to make that happen.

The move comes as the Clinton Foundation falls under more scrutiny for alleged involvement in the deal, which effectively saw a large portion of uranium fall into the hands of the Russian government.

For many, the development represents the real Russian scandal as opposed to that involving President Donald Trump — whom many on the left accuse of colluding with the Kremlin to secure his electoral victory in 2016.

Hillary Clinton has since hit back at her opponents hard for pursuing an investigation, but several Republican lawmakers are nevertheless following through with it.
