Progressive ideology is a plague on business, and it’s getting worse. That’s why they call it “progressive.” It gets progressively worse. More and more companies are falling victim to the false tune of the claim that diversity of gender and race are good for business.
The truth is that diversity of gender and race are totally irrelevant when it comes to getting business done, making money, and serving customers. Not only is it irrelevant, but it is a hindrance. When we place skin color or the contents of one’s pants ahead of choosing the right person for the job, we do our businesses an enormous disservice.
Merit should come first. The fact that we have to say that is terrifying. It’s like having to tell an auto manufacturer that high-quality components should be the first considered when assembling a vehicle. But we do have to say this because the situation much of the business world is in right now is akin to a car maker deciding that a diversity of materials is ideal for well-made cars and that the lack of equal representation of particle-wood is a serious problem worthy of our attention.
What’s truly frightening is the fact that we are having to give serious attention to this pernicious idea. We are having to argue down people who think skin color and genitalia are leading qualifying/disqualifying factors in selecting candidates for specific jobs.
