Joe Biden Vows to Defy Subpoena for Trump’s Impeachment Trial

While Nancy Pelosi and House Democrats continue to withhold the articles of impeachment from the Senate as they attempt to negotiate the witnesses that will be called to testify in Trump’s trial, there’s one potential witness who has already stated he has no intention of testifying: Joe Biden.

Vowing to defy any subpoena for Trump’s impeachment trial, Biden seems to have no intention of participating in the process.

It certainly isn’t that Biden disagrees with impeachment, though, but instead the idea of being forced to testify under oath regarding he and his son’s dealings in Ukraine that has Biden worried. In the Republican-run Senate, Biden’s shady deals and abuse of power would certainly be scrutinized much more closely than they were in the House’s biased, partisan proceedings. Now that the 2020 election right around the corner and Biden is still leading a weak Democratic pack, this is something that the former Vice President can ill afford.

With Democrats lambasting Trump and his inner circle for refusing to testify during the House’s hearings, Biden’s refusal to testify during the Senate trial is hilariously ironic.
