Clip: Elijah Cummings Calls Baltimore “Drug Infested”

In 1999, Rep Elijah Cummings (D) from Baltimore Maryland said this, “This morning, I left my community of Baltimore, a drug-infested area, where a lot of the drugs we are talking about today have already taken the lives of so many children. The same children that I watched 14 or 15 years ago as they grew up now walking around like zombies. This is only 40 miles away from here.”

Boy, if we didn’t know better – if we believed everything our thought masters at CNN and MSNBC told us, we would have to assume that Representative Cummings was a blazing racist. Because President Donald Trump said the exact same thing and was called — for the Nth time — a ranking bigot for saying the same thing in the same language.

What they won’t tell you is that the word “infested” is not some kind of racist code work for brown people. It is a common turn of phrase for an area that is plagued with any kind of rampant social ill — especially crime, drugs, poverty, and actual rodents – which, by now we all know are plaguing the city of Baltimore.

We have got to hold these race-baiting liars to account. We are sick and tired of being called names, and we will not put up with it any longer.
