Now that Beto O’Rourke has dropped out of the 2020 Presidential race, his campaign is now going to be little more than a footnote in history. It was a result that most anyone could have seen coming – most anyone, that is, except for the mainstream media.
In spite of the fact that O’Rourke was coming off of a failed campaign to win a Senate seat in his home state, there was a time when the talking heads in the mainstream media proclaimed Beto O’Rourke to be a god among men. They cooed over his charisma, discussed his ability to drive voters to the voting booth, and praised the manner in which he was able to command an audience.
Until the polls started coming out and revealing that Beto O’Rourke didn’t have a snowball’s chance of reaching the White House, he was the media’s candidate.
What we know now, though, is that everything the media once said about Beto O’Rourke was a lie. He isn’t a charismatic leader who can command a room; that much is obvious just by watching him. He also isn’t a magnetic individual who will drive people to the polls. In fact, everything that the media promised about O’Rourke turned out to be untrue. Beto O’Rourke may not have been able to reach the White House, but what he was able to do was prove just how delusional and deceitful those in the mainstream media can be.
