Students Investigated for Flashing “White Power” OK Hand Sign

So, if we’re going to give the progressive left any credibility at all, let’s just pretend that they really are that convinced that a country-wide neo-Nazi uprising is imminent. We all know that’s a bunch of crap, but let’s just pretend for a moment that the left isn’t completely insane.

If this is the case, why in the world would you want white supremacists to “keep” things like the “OK” hand sign? Why are we allowing people who we all agree are some of the most despicable members of society to re-write our cultural norms and customs? If you actually oppose neo-Nazis, and we really hope all of us do, why would you give them any cultural space to grow whatsoever?

It is stories like this that drive political conversations underground. It’s why online spaces like 8-chan and Half-chan have been allowed to flourish with almost no visibility outside of their (very) small communities.

So now, students that attended the U.S Army-Navy football game are actually being investigated for flashing a symbol that has been one of the most benign displays for most of history. We really wish we were making this up.
