Now that the Russia investigation has finally reached its inevitable conclusion, the evidence that the entire investigation was nothing more than a coordinated political hit against President Trump is stronger than ever before. Now, having been cleared of any wrongdoing, Trump has the ability to call out the investigation for what it really was: an attempted coup by the Democratic Party and its deep state members within US intelligence agencies.
Finding the truth was never the intention of the Russia investigation. Finding something, anything, that would lead to Trump’s removal from office was the goal of the investigation from the very start. Had Special Counsel Robert Mueller been able to find Trump guilty of so much as shoplifting, the investigation would have been deemed legitimate. After years of digging through Trump’s entire life, though, Mueller was unable to come up with anything that the Democratic Party could use as a basis to call for Trump’s impeachment.
The fact that the investigation failed in its goal, though, should not distract us from how heinous that goal was. From start to finish, the Russia investigation was nothing more than an attempted coup on a sitting President, and those responsible for letting it get this far should be forced to answer for their crimes.
