We have not seen a president take the kind of tack on foreign military and diplomatic issues that President Trump has for at least 150 years. He comes off like a greasy businessman and a tough guy. But in the end, they end up respecting him and wanting his support.
So, how does he do it? Well, Trump brings something to the White House that it hasn’t seen in quite some time, honest to goodness grit and spit polish. That is to say, he’s a real man — but not gruff or toxic. It’s Trump’s get-it-done brand of charisma that makes him such a successful president on foreign policy.
You see, the rest of the world does not buy into the PC nonsense that we have been poisoned with here. They see things directly, not through some filter of guilt or victimhood. They see opportunity and obstacles. Granted, they lack a sense of morality which is deeply American, but we had that long before we started thinking poorly of ourselves.
That’s how Trump got North Korea to put away their nukes and start talking sense. He did it by not treating them like animals, not belittling them, and by offering them a place at the big kid’s table. He does this by acting like a man.
The other leaders of the world like that. If they are going to back down — they do not want to back down from some momma-jeans wearing nancy-boy like Obama.
