Report: Obama Did NOT Want Joe Biden to Run for President

If Barrack Obama is a fan of his former vice president, he certainly hasn’t shown it.

Back when Obama first refused to endorse Joe Biden for President, the news came as a real blow to Biden’s campaign. As one of the most popular Democrats of all time, an endorsement from Obama would have carried Biden a long way with Democratic voters. According to recent reports, though, Obama not only refused to endorse Biden, but also reportedly encouraged him not to run.

If this is true, it’s news that Joe Biden certainly didn’t want to be made public. At the same time that Democratic presidential candidates are attacking Biden for his connections to Obama, Obama seems to be distancing himself from Biden as well.

Right now, Biden remains the frontrunner to secure the Democratic nomination – not because he’s an excellent candidate, but largely due to the fact that the rest of the 2020 Democratic field is so weak. As the only prominent “moderate” in the field, Biden has a clear path to the nomination. If he’s going to get there, though, he’s apparently going to have to do it without the support of the President who his legacy is tied to.
