Reminder: Trump is Allowed to Fire People in His Own Cabinet

When news broke that President Trump had fired his national security advisor, John Bolton, it didn’t take long at all for the media to spin the story into an attack against the President. The angle they took is a familiar one at this point – Trump’s administration is a poorly-managed mess, and his history of firing so many officials is evidence of that mess.

It seems like a convincing angle. After all, it is true that Trump has fired more officials from his administration than almost any other President before him. However, this doesn’t have to be a negative thing as the mainstream media likes to suggest.

The simple fact is that Trump, as President, is entitled to have the team that he wants. With so many qualified candidates to choose from, there’s no reason to blame the President for being choosy about who works in his administration.

A President, after all, is only as good as the team that he builds around himself, and Trump’s tendency to hire and fire officials at such a frequent rate is just as much evidence that he is committed to building the right team as it is evidence that his administrations is a mess.
