Nancy Pelosi Claims There’s No Money for a Border Wall

With the possibility of a second government shutdown looming large, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her House Democrats are still refusing to budge on the issue of funding a wall on the nation’s southern border.

In fact, Pelosi recently stated that there would not “be any wall money in the legislation”. The legislation that Pelosi is referencing is a $22 billion border security plan crafted by Democrats. The plan includes extra funding for border patrol, customs services, and immigration agents as well as humanitarian aid for migrants that have been apprehended — but not a single penny for any kind of physical barrier on the border.

The fact that Democrats are willing to spend billions of dollars on border security but entirely unwilling to set aside any of that money for a border wall paints a clear picture of their true motivations. Keeping President Donald Trump from fulfilling his promise is the Democratic Party’s number one objective. Crafting a $22 billion border security plan that doesn’t include any funding for the wall — a measure that most border security experts agree would be the most affordable and effective way to curb illegal immigration — is nothing more than smoke and mirrors meant to disguise this objective.
