House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently claimed that there is no division among House Democrats, insisting that they were all united toward common goals. Appearing on Fox News, Sen. Lindsey Graham responded to this claim by saying that Pelosi is either delusional or misleading.
The division among House Democrats has never been more pronounced than it is right now. One of the biggest issues is that House Democrats are split over impeaching President Donald Trump. In spite of the fact that Trump has been cleared of any wrongdoing, 80% of the House Judiciary Committee is still in favor of impeaching the President. Pelosi, however, continues to stand against moving forward with impeachment proceedings.
Meanwhile, the entire Democratic Party is being torn between two very different factions – the far-left, progressive faction led by socialists such as Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the more moderate faction led by “old guard” politicians such as Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.
If Nancy Pelosi really believes that she is not leading a divided House, she is delusional. If she isn’t delusional, then she is purposely misleading the American people about the current state of the Democratic Party.
