This is the Republican Immigrant Challenging AOC in 2020

On July 17th, Scherie Murray officially launched a campaign to challenge Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for her seat in Congress in the 2020 election.

A New York businesswoman who immigrated to the United States from Jamaica when she was a child, Murray plans to run against Ocasio-Cortez as a Republican – and it didn’t take her long to come out swinging against the ring-leader of “The Squad.”

“There is a crisis in Queens,” Murray said, “and it’s called AOC. And instead of focusing on us, she’s focusing on being famous. Mainly rolling back progress and authoring the job-killing Green New Deal and killing the Amazon New York deal.”

Given Ocasio-Cortez’s love of identity politics, Murray is a nightmare of a matchup for her. As a black female immigrant, Murray isn’t vulnerable to the type of attacks that Ocasio-Cortez thrives on. Instead, Ocasio-Cortez may actually have to focus on the issues in her campaign against Murray – something that Ocasio-Cortez has so far shown that she is unable to do.

With Ocasio-Cortez’s approval rating hitting rock bottom and a strong new challenger coming onto the scene, there’s hope that everyone’s least favorite socialist will be nothing more than a one-term mistake.

See Murray herself talk about her campaign below.
