Ben Shapiro on Why the Democrats are Still Losing

In theory, there really should be no excuse for the Democratic Party to not completely clobber the Republicans in 2018’s midterm elections.

President Donald Trump is universally hated by the press and almost everyone who reads or watches it. Opposition parties almost always make gains in the legislature during off-year elections. To top it all off, the bitter state of our national discourse would suggest that a change in leadership is imminent.

Despite this, the margin by which Democrats are expected to win seats in Congress seems to shrink every time a major poll is released. Why is this?

According to the Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, there are multiple factors — not the least of which is the deep unpopularity of the radical left and its ambiguous platform. Above all of this, the Democratic Party itself doesn’t seem to have any real leaders. Those who are at the forefront of the party’s policy proposals are the same sort of radical leftists that encouraged Rust Belt states to cast a ballot for a Republican for the first time in a generation. At the same time, party big wigs of the past are still acting like the run the place, and the party’s own supporters can’t stand it.

Hear Shapiro’s full thoughts on the matter in the video below.
