Ron Paul: The Deep State is Real, and it Wants War with Russia

Former Texas Congressman and libertarian icon Ron Paul isn’t exactly the biggest Trump supporter in the world, but even he agrees that the recent indictments of Russian nationals announced by Special Counsel Robert Mueller are a bit suspicious.

The indictments, which suggest several members of the Trump campaign were in direct contact with Russian operatives with the objective of sabotaging 2016’s presidential election, are the latest in the long-running saga of supposed Trump-Russia collusion. In the face of a booming economy and a bolder American presence on the world stage, this investigation has seemingly been all the Democratic Party has been able to hold onto as it becomes less and less likely it will be able to retake control of Congress this November.

But Ron Paul suggests there is more to this story, and it goes back to his classic anti-war ethos. For all their differences, Paul and Trump see eye to eye on many foreign policy issues, among them being the desire for peace between the world’s major powers. However, there is a network of government agencies and contractors that benefit from exactly the opposite of this, and Paul suspects this is one of the main reasons the so-called “deep state” fears peace between the United States and Russia.

Watch Paul break down the scenario in the video below.
