Why Prager U is Suing Youtube and Google

Prager University, the online effort to reverse leftist academic brainwashing, is taking the fight directly to Google after finding out many of its videos have been placed on YouTube’s “restricted mode”.

According to Prager U, their channel is one of the many online entities being targeted for its political slant, particularly of the conservative variety. The think tank is suing both Google and its subsidiary YouTube for alleged censorship.

Prager’s CEO Marissa Streit made the case for the lawsuit when speaking to Newsmax TV’s Miranda Kahn on the network’s program, America Talks Live.

“It’s obviously not an algorithm,” she said. “At this point, we release our videos on Monday mornings. Often times, within the hour, the video is restricted.”

Streit noted that not all of Prager U’s videos have been effectively censored, but almost a fifth of their uploads have. YouTube and Google initially denied engaging in any form of censorship, but later admitted that their moderators determined the content was only fit for “mature audiences”.
