Calling yourself a “conservative” carries a very different meaning today than it did half a generation ago.
Sure enough, conservatives as a whole tend to all agree that socialism is bad, borders are important, and that teaching children that it’s perfectly normal to swap genders at six years of age might be over-doing it. But really, that’s about it.
The conservative movement, at least in the United States, had a cultural agenda as well. And sure, it was lambasted by progressives over the years for being too preachy or too puritan, but there was still a method to the madness. Cultural degeneracy has far-reaching effects — effects that do in fact impact the world around individuals who think they’re doing nothing wrong.
Consider this: the number of drug overdoses is hitting a historic high in America right now — following at least a decade of Republicans softening their stance on issues like drug use.
Sure, the economy is doing great, but what good is that when scores of young men are living without a purpose, and young women are being led to believe that excessive sexual behavior has no consequences? We have to ask ourselves: what are conservatives even “conserving” anymore?
Paul Joseph Watson takes conservatives who abandoned the culture to task in the video below.
