A few years ago, socialism was nothing more in the United States than a negative buzzword. Today, though, multiple frontrunners for the Democratic Presidential nomination are self-proclaimed Democratic socialists, and their far-left ideas are starting to gain more and more momentum within the party.
These new democratic socialists, though, have about as much in common with traditional Democrats as the Republican Party. Democratic socialists are a brand new type of disaster in this country, and their popularity is growing.
Unlike traditional Democrats, democratic socialists believe that housing, healthcare, and even a livable income are basic human rights that should be provided by the government. While traditional Democrats may present some radical ideas, democratic socialists are in favor of a complete, totalitarian overhaul of our nation’s government, economy, and society.
Democrats and Republicans may have different ideas about how to get to basically the same destination, but democratic socialists have charted out an entirely new destination that they are working to reach – and it’s a destination that is certain to spell ruin for our country.
