Europe is in crisis. The economy of most European countries is failing, their sense of safety is gone as the frequency of terror attacks in Europe continues to rise, and even their once-proud culture is vanishing. To make matters far worse, the crisis in Europe is one of their own making.
Open border policies in Europe – the same type of policies that those on the left are fighting for America to adopt – have led to unchecked immigration into European countries. This has placed an unbearable burden on the European economy, has allowed terrorists from war-torn countries to enter Europe without question, and has given rise to massive communities of immigrants who refuse to assimilate to the culture of their new home.
If there’s one silver lining in the downfall of Europe, it’s the fact that it serves as a valuable lesson for the United States. That lesson is that the open border policies championed by the left lead only to economic, cultural, and literal destruction.
A nation without borders is no nation at all. While immigration can certainly be a wonderful thing for the United States or any nation, it’s only beneficial when it is carefully controlled. One has only to look at the crisis in Europe to see what happens when it is not.
