We’re Now Seeing the Horrible Aftermath of ‘#MeToo’

The #MeToo movement started as one of the most powerful, important movements of the modern era, ousting sexual predators and harassers in positions of power who have been able to get away with their misdeeds for far too long. If the movement had stopped there and left ousting sexual wrongdoers as its only objective, everything would have been all well and good. However, the #MeToo has since morphed into something far more dangerous.

Today, the #MeToo movement is used as a cudgel against all men, proclaiming that men are inherently dangerous and that men who are accused of sexual assault or harassment should be deemed guilty regardless of the evidence or lack thereof. It has created a dangerous environment where men are at risk of losing everything at the first accusation, even if that accusation is entirely false.

To make matters worse, the #MeToo movement has also taken up the banners of gender discrimination, fighting for feminist ideals that are, at best, terribly flawed in their reasoning. For example, orchestrators of the #MeToo movement are now pushing for more gender diversity in STEM fields, claiming that gender discrimination must be the reason why so few women go into STEM. Of course, there is zero evidence that discrimination plays any role in why men, on average, are more likely to choose STEM fields. The result then becomes the senseless targeting of our most important fields coupled with manufactured diversity that only serves to lower the standards of acceptance.

Watch Ben Shapiro discuss all of this with Heather Mac Donald below.
