We Are No Longer Living in an America We Recognize

In the comments beneath the video we’re about to link to, one person wrote, “Communism builds walls to keep their slaves contained. Free nations build walls to keep their citizens safe.”

It’s pretty hard to improve on that simple comparison.

The America that we love, the America that the conservative movement wants to protect, is a country founded on the idea that citizens have the right to keep the property that they earn. It was founded on a respect for the family unit as the building block of a strong, free, and prosperous society. A free nation is designed to allow its citizens to flourish by giving them room to pursue happiness while removing the burden of battling raiders and pirates.

But that is not the vision of the Left. The Left’s vision is a nation where the liberty of the individual to pursue her or his own vision of happiness and prosperity is subjugated to the State’s vision of how the individual should live. It is a place where seatbelts replace good judgment, where regulations remove the responsibility of choosing right from wrong. It is a vision of control, obedience, and submission.

The Left, at its best, infantilizes its people. At it’s worst, it does away with anyone who does not conform. The movement from infantilization to mass graves in the name of infantilization, history shows, is the inevitable result of Leftist control systems.

Our friends on the Left are wrong. Walls work. The difference between their wall and ours is how it will be used.
