The FBI has foiled two terrorist plots by two people with strong leftist leanings. The mainstream media has scantly reported on this and did not mention the professed ideologies of the two would be terrorists. This is because the mainstream media hates you. But it’s worse than that, because this isn’t just about two political parties duking it out for the sake of disparate causes — this is about grabbing power no matter what the cost.
The would-be perps were an anarchist who planned to blow up a bar, and a white Muslim convert who planned to shoot up a synagogue. Both professed their abiding hatred for the west and for western values. They were found out because they posted their violent intentions all over social media.
Now, what’s really interesting about this event is not just that the FBI was able to save a lot of lives. We’re glad for that. But what it shows is just one of the reasons free speech is a natural right that must be protected. Moreover, it is the speech of the hateful that must be protected first. That is what alerted the authorities to these two burgeoning killers — their free speech.
It isn’t just the right to be heard, but the right to hear. When the truly hateful are allowed to speak, the rest of us are alerted to their hatred and can take caution. Right now, people like Tim Cook are calling for an end to free speech.
