Trump’s Legal Team Calls for New Special Counsel
The seemingly botched investigation into President Donald Trump’s alleged ties with the Russian government has done little more than raise more questions than answers, and the Department of Justice is losing patience.
Now, Trump’s legal team is calling for an independent investigation in the after math of the firing of official Bruce Ohr — who has been linked the anti-Trump dossier published by Buzzfeed and reported on by several other media organizations.
According to Trump attorney Jay Sekulow, the administration can lo longer ignore what it calls obvious conflicts of interest.
“The Department of Justice and FBI cannot ignore the multiple problems that have been created by these obvious conflicts of interests. These new revelations require the appointment of a Special Counsel to investigate,” Sekulow said.
If the suspicions on behalf of the administration are found to hold water, it could call the whole investigation on Trump into question.
