Trump Launches 2020 Campaign, Nets $25 Million in Donations Overnight

On June 18th, President Donald Trump officially launched his 2020 presidential campaign. Within just 24 hours of launching his campaign, President Trump had already raised more in contributions than any Democratic Presidential candidate has been able to raise in the past quarter.

By the time the first 24 hours since launching his campaign had passed, President Trump was able to rake in a total of $24.8 million – the highest single-day total for a Presidential campaign in U.S. history.

To understand just how staggering this number really is, consider the fact that the previous record holder for the highest single-day contribution total was held by Bernie Sanders, who was able to raise $5.9 million on the first day of his 2020 campaign launch. In fact, President Trump was able to raise more money in the first 24 hours of his campaign launch than the top five Democratic candidates were able to raise in their first 24 hours combined.

While the 2016 election proved that more money doesn’t always win elections, such a large war chest will still no doubt go a long way toward improving Trump’s chances in 2020.
