Throughout Beto O’Rourke’s campaign to unseat Ted Cruz in the 2016 midterm elections, Beto was hailed by the Democratic Party as a man who was “born to be President.” In spite of the fact that Beto failed to win his home state by a considerable margin, his Presidential aspirations remained unchanged. However, there is every reason to believe that Beto’s campaign is over before it ever had a chance to begin.
If Beto O’Rourke is remembered in the future at all, he will only be remembered as a media story – a leftist darling who was never able to live up to the lofty aspirations his supporters had. The reason why it is so certain that Beto’s campaign is done is the fact that he has already been replaced. Beto O’Rourke is no longer the leftist media’s darling. The one thing that he had going for him, the one advantage that his entire campaign was based on, is now nothing but a relic of the past.
