The Trump Family’s First Christmas in the White House
Melania Trump unveils the magnificent Christmas decorations she and her team have created for the Trump Family’s first Christmas in the White House.
First Lady Melania Trump said that holiday traditions are very important to her family, and with that, she chose the decor theme of “Time-Honored Traditions” for this year’s decorations.
Presidential families have celebrated Christmas in the White House for over 200 years, and the First Lady wanted visitors to get a sense of family and being home for the holidays when they visit the White House.
Some of the “time-honored traditions’ used in the décor include President Ronald Reagan’s china and President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1866 edition of “A Christmas Carol.” The festive home also includes more than 1,000 feet of garland and 53 Christmas, with the official 18.5 feet tall White House Christmas tree boasting over 12,000 ornaments, including beautiful glass ornaments which contain the seal of each state and territory in the United States.
The First Lady has already welcomed Christmas visitors to the White House this season, with a celebration of military families who were invited to make Christmas crafts with her and get the first look at the magnificent holiday décor, which even includes a gingerbread replica of the White House adorned in its holiday best. Over 25,000 visitors are expected to view the White House Christmas decorations this season.
